Job Description


The Accountant is responsible for overall functions of various sections and ensures daily smooth operations of Finance department. Primary Responsibilities Daily Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares month-end and year-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Prepares and posts month-end journals in accordance to hotel\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures.
  • Compiles financial reports for various management reporting.
  • Checks daily bank statements for abnormal activities.
  • Prepares all financial statements, accruals and journal entries, and maintains reconciliation\xe2\x80\x99s for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepares monthly bank and credit card reconciliation.
  • Prepares quarterly GST submission.
  • Administers withholding tax and ensure submission and payment to Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.
  • Prepares external surveys by Department of Statistics, SHATEC and other governing bodies.
  • Compiles and ensures accurate payment of yearly corporate tax and property tax.
  • Ensures that all hotel systems and internal controls related to general ledger section are adhered to.
  • Supervises and assists with account reconciliation\xe2\x80\x99s, account analysis, and closing procedures at month end.
  • Co-ordinates, observes and prepares all operating equipment and supply inventories in accordance with corporate policies as directed by the Director of Finance and Business Support.
  • Ensures the accuracy and timeliness for all operational tax reporting.
  • Prepares and oversees the preparation of all local, state and federal tax returns and other reports on a timely basis.
  • Ensures proper submission of insurance claims for hotel.
  • Maintains proper records for all contracts and ensure that all contracts are promptly renewed before expiry date and update critical date-list.
  • Ensures all documents are filed accordingly and softcopy easily retrievable such as contracts, trademarks and annual audit file.
  • Ensures critical date-list is updated for tracking at all time.
  • Ensures the operation procedures are in accordance with PCI-DSS compliances.

Candidate Profile Knowledge and Experience
  • Degree holder or equivalent in hospitality or related field.
  • Strong systems knowledge of all accounting software including Property Management System, Point of Sale system and Microsoft Office.
  • Well versed in Local Tax compliance, Government regulations and all License application.
  • Understand all statutory requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Ability to maximize capital/productivity grants.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in similar capacity.
