Company Description



The Data Protection Executive is responsible for establishing and sustaining the data protection system in Raffles Hotel Singapore.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary point of contact within the organisation for colleagues, regulators and any relevant bodies on issues related to data protection.
  • Ensures organisation\xe2\x80\x99s policy is in accordance with Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and codes of practice.
  • Evaluates the existing data protection framework and identifies areas of non or partial compliance, and rectifies any issues.
  • Devises training plans, provides data protection advice and supports colleagues.
  • Informs and advises the Data Controller or Data Processor on all matters related to data protection.
  • Promotes a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organisation.
  • Provides expert advice and educates colleagues on important data compliance requirements.
  • Drafts new and amends existing internal data protection policies, guidelines and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Conducts training with colleagues across different business units who are involved in data handling or processing.
  • Proactively conducts audits to ensure compliance and addresses potential issues.
  • Maintains record of all data processing activities carried out by the organisation.
  • Serves as the point of contact between the organisation and the data protection authorities.
Qualifications

Candidate Profile

Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s university degree or equivalent.
  • Experience working in data protection compliance or a related field, and within a legal, audit and/or risk function department preferred.
  • Knowledge in Singapore data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the PDPA.
  • Good knowledge of IT software such as Microsoft Office Suite, systems and network will be an advantage.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Oral and written fluency in English, and ability to speak other languages will be an advantage.
