ING is looking for... A Regional Data Management lead in ING Wholesale Banking, to support data management and data protection efforts in the Asia region.
Job description
This person will be a part of the Expert Team Asia (responsible for 1st line implementation of Non-Financial Risks) overseeing and actively participating in globally led programs relating to data protection or data management and drive regional efforts to further improve data management aspects within WB Asia locations. The regional data management lead will be chairing the quarterly Data Domain Council and lead several task forces on Data Quality and Data Ethics & also be responsible for improving and maintaining adequate data governance throughout the Asia region. The Regional Data Management lead reports to the Head of the Expert Team and functionally reports to the WB Global CDMO team in the Netherlands. The Regional Data Management lead also acts as Data Protection Executive Office for the Asia region, supporting the execution of key requirements under the data protection legislation for WB Asia locations. This includes managing data breaches, data privacy related complaints and regular reporting to Executive Management.
Responsibilities
can be categorized in three areas

  • Governance: addressing setup and management of the data management organization within WB Asia, the Data Protection Executive organization within WB Asia and the assignment and maintenance of internal mandates (Data Domain Council, registered data owners and data stewards etc.). Support the further set-up of a global, functional data management organization.
  • Execution: covering the implementation of regulations, internal policies and minimum standards by standardizing control design and support for assurance activities (key control testing and Internal or external audits), and subsequent remediation of identified deficiencies. In addition, regional frameworks are established for data quality, data lineage, data dictionary documentation and data exchange principles.
  • Business Value; focusing on the support and enablement of data analytics, advanced analytics use cases, ensuring ING\xe2\x80\x99s data ingestion goals of aggregating all data into the WB Data Analytics platform are met, drive data quality.

Your Profile
You are hands-on, analytical, pragmatic and problem-solving with an understanding of the regulatory environment in which banks operate. You have a keen eye for detail. You have affinity for and are eager to work in the area of data protection and data management. You have a positive, critical, pro-active and result-oriented attitude and are capable of managing and driving change yourself. You have outstanding social and communication skills (ability to communicate clearly, effectively and consistently in different contexts and cultures) and are able to work independently. Collaboration, influencing and facilitation skills are key in this role. You deliver timely and high quality services, enable strategic decision making, work in partnerships and are expected to establish long lasting relationships with various stakeholders. You are transparent and flexible and able to act at operational and executive level.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree mandatory (e.g. in Banking & Finance, Economics or similar) with any additional professional qualification/data related certifications is an added advantage.
  • Experience with implementing Data Governance principles across the organization and having worked with key stakeholders involving Data Stewards, Data Owners with a strong understanding of the front-to-back risk & control environment requirements.
  • Knowledge of data management related processes including Data Governance, Data Quality & Data Protection aspects.
  • Experience with working in complex international & federated organization structure.
  • Excellent English language skills both spoken and in word are required
  • A track record in project management is a plus.
  • Good stakeholder management skills with an ability to build bridges by nature and bridge between different levels, different people and different cultures
  • Hands-on team player who is good at driving engagement across levels on content discussions & for driving decision making amongst stakeholders.
