The Regional Director of Medical Affairs (RDMA) for Women’s Cancer holds primary responsibility for developing and executing Oncology Global Medical Affairs strategies in the JCAP region, which are aligned to the Oncology Global Medical Affairs Plan for their indication(s). They work under the leadership of regional Oncology medical leaders and work closely with country medical affairs colleagues of their region (including core countries). Reporting to the Global Executive Director and Tumor lead, the RDMA gives direction to the country medical organizations for country medical affairs activities relevant for indications in their franchise. You provide medical support to the Regional Marketing Leads and are responsible for Scientific Leadership in the JCAP region. You engage with your network of scientific leaders in the region. What will you do:
  • In collaboration with the Global Executive Director and Tumor Lead, you will develop a set of Medical Affairs strategies for the JCAP region, aligned with and reflected in the Oncology Global Medical Affairs Plan.
  • You will execute the Medical Affairs Plan in the region in collaboration with regional and local medical affairs colleagues.
  • You will provide oversight and guidance to country medical colleagues about country medical affairs activities relevant to Oncology, develop an agenda, and chair regional medical affairs team meetings every month.
  • To ensure regional needs and visions are captured in the Global Scientific and Medical Affairs plans, you will input regional insights and perspectives into the global medical affairs team meetings.
  • Provide medical expertise and support to Regional Marketing Leads (RMLs) and Regional Leadership (President, Chief Marketing Officer, Regional Oncology Medical Leader)
  • You will execute Scientific Leader event planning in the JCAP region from the Global Human Health (GHH) perspective in collaboration with the Global Director of Scientific Affairs (GDSAs) from the company`s Research Laboratory perspective.
  • You will be responsible for scientific communication through contacts, meetings, and presentations with key Scientific Leaders and stakeholders—Voice of authority and information on franchise science in the region.
Primary Activities:
  • Develop individual relationships with top 50 regional scientific leaders through non-promotional scientific dialogue pertinent to the company`s interest
  • Execute Scientific Leader event planning for JCAP and has credible, non-promotional, and informed scientific dialogue with key SLs.
  • Lead/participate in GHH medical and scientific forums, ensure relationships with critical regional professional societies and organizations
Internal activities:
  • Recommend new studies, global medical affairs activities, and prioritized investments to GMA Leadership
  • Provides medical/scientific support relevant to development of brand strategies to RMLs and Global GHH Teams
  • Participates in the company`s Investigator Sponsored Program Review Committees to align country clinical programs (local studies) from the JCAP region with data generation and research strategies, assuring proper oversight once approved
  • Tracks progress, completion, and publication of country studies runs monthly RMAT meetings, and inputs outcomes into GMAT meetings.
  • Collect and collate information for the Global Scientific and Medical Affairs plan, and work with Global Training and Strategy Leaders to address regional medical education needs.
What should you have:
  • Required: MD, Ph.D. or M Pharm. Recognized expertise through 5+ yrs clinical with a research experience in oncology is desired.
  • You have a minimum four years of pharmaceutical or related industry experience with a proven track record of contributing to commercial, medical, or clinical development strategies focusing on women’s cancer. A comprehensive understanding of the oncology breast cancer and gynecological tumors field is desired.
  • Strategic thinking, related explicitly to life-cycle management strategy and execution
  • You have excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills to manage senior stakeholders and people. Results-oriented project management, facilitation, and consultative skills to influence decision-making.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to understand how decisions fit into the broader context of corporate strategies
  • Able to effectively collaborate across divisions in a matrix environment
