A leading technology company with regional HQ in Singapore. Due to business expansion, they have a new role for Regional Head of Legal (Based in Singapore).

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the company, with a specific focus on operations in Singapore and regional responsibilities across Asia.
• Collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders, including senior executives and business leaders, to ensure legal compliance and manage legal risks.
• Provide legal advice on a wide range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and employment law.
• Monitor and assess changes in laws and regulations affecting the company\xe2\x80\x99s operations and proactively recommend necessary actions.
• Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, licensing agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and mitigate legal risks in business relationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline contract processes and implement best practices.
• Advise on corporate governance matters, including board governance, compliance policies, and internal controls.
• Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities and propose risk mitigation strategies.
• Conduct internal investigations when required and recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Coordinate with external counsel on IP matters, including filing applications, managing disputes, and licensing agreements.
• Collaborate with external counsel to manage litigation and dispute resolution matters.
• Provide guidance and support during the resolution of legal disputes, including negotiations, mediation, and arbitration

Required:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent degree from a recognized university and admission to the Singapore Bar or another Asian jurisdiction.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar legal leadership role within a technology company or related industry.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial law, intellectual property, data privacy, and regulatory compliance in Asia.
• Strong understanding of the legal and business landscape in Singapore and other Asian countries.
• Proven track record of providing strategic legal advice and managing legal risks.
• Experience in negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in other Asian languages is advantageous.
