For nearly 20 years, we have served our clients with our Air, Ocean, Road, and Warehousing portfolio across Asia and as we look to continue our growth, we are recruiting for an industry leading Regional Managing Director to join our well-established Indo ASEAN operation.
We have enjoyed another very successful year here at cargo-partner and our ambitious expansion plans are in full flow after recently opening new offices in Spain, Mexico, and India and with new offices set to open later this year across Europe, the US, and Asia adding to our 4000+ colleagues in 160 offices across 40 countries.
In this key business role, your primary function will be to lead the region and its\' staff and be responsible for the financial success and profitability for the nine countries in your remit: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Australia. The post holder will oversee 430+ headcount across these nine countries, with five direct reports from their Cluster/Country Managers. As well as the above, the Regional Manager Director will have full commercial responsibility ensuring a seamless operation between departments and act as a driving force to deliver growth in the region.

IndoAsean is an extremely important region on the world stage and given its blend of emerging and mature markets it requires a knowledgeable, innovative, forward thinking leader to deliver and sustain success as we roll out regional expansion plans. Such is the importance of this role the two previous post holders have excelled here at cargo-partner being promoted to both Global CEO and CCO positions.

Experience of working in a global, complex, matrix organisation would be an advantage when understanding our operating model and stakeholder management and we are proud of our excellent team-orientated and multi-cultural working environment.
The Position:
Commercial responsibility (including, but not limited to)
\xc2\xb7 Financial success and profitability, responsibility for fulfilling budgets of the countries within the region
\xc2\xb7 Leading the managing/cluster directors in the region
\xc2\xb7 ensuring all regional and country structures are in place and working efficiently (such as Sales, Finance and Accounting, Controlling, HR, Product Management, Legal etc.)
\xc2\xb7 Ensuring proper reporting, target setting and budget processes
\xc2\xb7 Setting, monitoring, reviewing and achieving targets and budgets, budget control, setting out mitigating or additional actions in cases of non-achievement or changing environment
\xc2\xb7 Acting as a driving force (leader, innovator, guide, controller, motivator) behind company\xc2\xb4s growth and prosperity
\xc2\xb7 Reviewing company\xc2\xb4s performance and financial results and acting accordingly
\xc2\xb7 Avoiding unpredictable, unnecessary or exorbitant risks for the company (e.g.: customs, trade marks, possible fraud, bad debts, dangerous, perishable or contaminated goods, collection of B/L\'s prior to container release, holding of COD goods pending bank release)
\xc2\xb7 Own key account management
\xc2\xb7 Setting, checking and achieving targets, planning and budgeting, budget control
\xc2\xb7 Timely actions with loss-making or low ROP businesses, clients, country organizations and departments
\xc2\xb7 Assuring annual reviews of all important purchase relations of the company in the field of both transportation and general administration
\xc2\xb7 Evaluation and identification of new business opportunities (expansion within the defined geographical region, installment of new products and lines of business)
Business policy (including, but not limited to)
\xc2\xb7 Law-abiding conduct of the companies within the region
\xc2\xb7 Conduct of the region to the benefit of the whole group within the guidelines and management instructions
\xc2\xb7 Coordination with HQ, its staff, and other MD\xc2\xb4s and RD\xc2\xb4s
\xc2\xb7 Development of agents business in accordance with company\'s policy, personal contact with key agents
\xc2\xb7 Development of existing and implementation of new traffic lanes/products
Responsibility for personnel (including, but not limited to)
\xc2\xb7 Leadership towards the achievement of the organization\'s values, vision, mission, strategic and annual targets, current and general CIRCULARs of the Chairman and instructions of the Corporate Executive Board
\xc2\xb7 Measurement and evaluation of achievement of targets and results effecting the relative bonus payments to management, sales and operations in line with the respective contractual obligations and corporate directives
\xc2\xb7 Ensuring company\xc2\xb4s coverage of all functions required by HQ
\xc2\xb7 Planning, recruiting and dismissing staff
\xc2\xb7 Evaluation and remuneration as well as training and development of the staff
\xc2\xb7 Building up stable and successful management in cooperation with the personnel department in HQ
\xc2\xb7 Defining the tasks and providing proper job descriptions the employees
\xc2\xb7 Interviews with staff members to review and evaluate at least twice a year
Others (including, but not limited to)
\xc2\xb7 Office tasks, office equipment, trans-shipment facilities and other real estate, either rented or owned
\xc2\xb7 Legal representation of the company towards all public institutions and offices
\xc2\xb7 Reviewing and signing (within the competences of the \xe2\x80\x9cRules of procedure\xe2\x80\x9d) business documentation
\xc2\xb7 Organizing and controlling the set-up of new branch offices, offices or warehouse facilities
\xc2\xb7 Providing optimal functioning of all organizational divisions
Limitations
The managing director is bound by the stipulations, limitations and restrictions laid down by the "Rules of Procedure", which constitute an integral part of his/her contract with the company. Additionally, he/she bears the overall responsibility for his/her country/area. Furthermore, he/she is responsible for ensuring that all internal rules as laid-down by the up-to-date cargo-partner internal guidelines are followed. Managing director is personally or indirectly, through relevant managers engaging in leading and monitoring processes.
What you\'ll need to succeed\xe2\x80\xa6
\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 15 years of forwarding and logistics experience as either Country or Regional Manager
\xc2\xb7 The incumbent must have held P&L responsibility
\xc2\xb7 A true leaders mentality
\xc2\xb7 Profound knowledge of Air, Ocean, Road logistics combined with high IT affinity
\xc2\xb7 A strong understanding of the market in IndoAsean
\xc2\xb7 University degree or qualifications in international logistics an advantage
\xc2\xb7 Dynamic, proactive sales personality with entrepreneurial mindset and strong networking character
\xc2\xb7 Fluent in spoken and written English - other languages would be advantageous
\xc2\xb7 Proficient IT skills
\xc2\xb7 Experience managing large multicultural teams
\xc2\xb7 An appetite to succeed in a growing global business
