Are you ready for an exciting opportunity in our Asia Medical Officer Team? In this role you will get to work across Asia as one team with a special focus on the South East Asian market.
About the Role:

  • Provide evidence-based medical advice to product development, pricing, underwriting and claims to support profitable business growth.
  • Identify and monitor potential business risks and opportunities due to medical advancement and provide medical insights to business.
  • Provide timely advice on medical risk on case referred from underwriters and claims assessors.
  • Promote Swiss Re's thought leadership through presenting at industry events and publications.
  • Provide internal and external clients support including medical knowledge sharing with objectives and impact.
  • Work with global medical officers and global underwriting R&D team to translate actional medical insights into opportunities to support growth initiatives in Asia.

About the Team:
This is a regional team composes of medical officers based in different locations across Asia Pacific, and work closely with the cross-functional team and medical officers based in/out of Asia. The team is responsible in supporting profitable business and monitoring portfolio by providing insights on emerging medical risks and opportunities, be ambassadors to deliver thought leadership and knowledge with impact and enable underwriting to enhance efficiency and quality in risk assessment.
About You:
  • Tertiary education with degree in Medicine. Additional training or qualification in internal medicine or related fields is an advantage.
  • Ability to work closely with multi-functional team (medical professionals/Underwriters/Claims/Actuaries, etc.) in different locations across various markets & time zones.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Well-developed decision making & problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and other languages are desirable
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Business understanding and acumen.
  • At least five years experience in (re)insurance.
