With an Asia Pacific organization comprising around 2,600 employees spread across 16 countries, you will be joining a truly diverse international team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for evolving the APAC portfolio by developing a robust strategy and enabling execution of the same, working with FMC teams, external partners, and stakeholders across global, region and country levels.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
  • Post-patent management: Develop and progress the post-patent strategy of key AIs, taking into account the evolving competitive scenario, market opportunities, product life-cycle management and FMC growth goals.
  • Portfolio strategy: Drive the portfolio strategy with new offers, segmented value propositions, brand ladders and innovation initiatives to continue enhancing value, scope and scale.
  • New product introduction: Drive the launch of innovative new formulations and brand extensions, working collaboratively across functions to ensure successful NPI delivery.
  • Optimize financial performance: Drive financial performance of the portfolio, review portfolio pricing, profitability, and implications on the P&L.
  • Cross functional leadership: Lead the portfolio working across functions - commercial, R&D, regulatory, supply, legal to drive the and execution of portfolio strategies.
  • Enable country execution: Work collaboratively with country marketing teams and product managers to develop tailored plans and enable execution of the same. Coach teams where relevant.
  • Stakeholder alignment: Align strategies with all key stakeholders \xe2\x80\x93 global marketing, sub-region heads, country heads, functional heads as relevant for successful execution.
  • Market insights: Collate key market trends, grower and customer insights, and competitive analysis to provide meaningful insights for portfolio decisions, enable market driven innovation and pipeline development.
  • Stewardship and sustainability inputs: Manage portfolio risks proactively. Collaborate with regulatory and stewardship functions to support developing product stewardship and sustainability guidelines.

About You
The key to success in this position is a strong drive for results and the ability to apply customer and market insights to drive decisive actions to enhance the competitiveness of the FMC portfolio.
As you will be interacting with a broad network of stakeholders, it is important that you possess strong people and communication skills; and are able to lead and influence cross-functional teams and independent work groups across geographies.
We also expect that you have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing; MBA preferred
  • Experience in crop protection business (at least 10-15 years) in marketing and commercial functions. Worked at regional, country or global levels with experience in more than one level, ideally with experience in a regional role.
  • Extensive experience in post-patent portfolio management \xe2\x80\x93 developing and implementing portfolio plans in a post-patent environment, new product introductions and brand management.
  • Experience in understanding customer needs to develop value propositions that appeal to target customers, develop and strengthen brand equity.
  • In-depth knowledge of the inter-relatedness of commercial, regulatory, development and supply aspects for crop protection products.
  • Experience with working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Experience in applying financial principles as they relate to pricing, asset management, new product introduction and related portfolio management decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
