:The OpportunityThe Red Alert Network is a network of child and youth networks with a focus on addressing the climate and environmental crisis. With support from Save the Children, the network enables its members to join forces for greater impact and international coordination and solidarity. National Red Alert Networks have been formed or started in China, Hong Kong, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand while an International Steering Committee consisting of activists across the region convenes regularly to shape and implement a Red Alert international action plan.In 2024, the International Steering Committee will transition to a new phase, consisting of representatives from national networks. The volunteer will mainly be responsible for establishing a regional executive body for the new members of the committee and assisting in setting up governance structures for effective operation.Key Responsibilities * Collaborate with National Red Alert Network representatives to form a regional executive body.

  • Aid in designing governance frameworks to ensure efficient decision-making and coordination.
  • Facilitate regular meetings among National Red Alert representatives and the regional executive body.
  • Support the development and implementation of national and regional Red Alert plans.
Output Expectations * Formation of initial working groups before July
  • Regular progress updates and milestones as per agreed schedule.
  • Governance document by August
  • Draft national Plans for Red Alert countries by August
Minimum Qualifications
  • From a country that has an existing National Red Alert Network
  • Is a climate campaigner; current or previous membership to a Red Alert Network is a plus
  • Understanding of governance principles and processes networks
  • Prior experience in decision making level at a network
Required Competencies
  • Strong organizational and English communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with diverse groups of people, including children and adults.
