The Opportunity

Save the Children International works in more than 120 countries worldwide including 20 countries in Asia to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, protection from violence, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in times of disaster and conflicts.

Save the Children campaigns and advocates with and for children nationally, regionally, and globally. We aim to influence governments, international organisations, the private sector, and the general public to help realise children\'s rights and ensure that young people\'s concerns are heard and addressed. Through communications and external engagement we raise the profile of our work in context of key issues and challenges faced by children in Asia and globally through digital & social media campaigns to increase awareness and raise vital funds through our network.

To help fulfil these aims, Save the Children\'s regional Advocacy, Campaign, Communications and Media (ACCM) team supports colleagues in a dozen country offices across Asia-Pacific in their national efforts.

The Regional social media and content volunteer will support regional teams in Asia with training , new content ideas and social data best practices to support national teams towards higher audience engagement.

This will broadly include supporting the work by regional and national communications teams, external agencies with social media channel best practice training supporting data analytics where needed.

The role may also provide coordination support to the Regional Head of Communications & external engagement, including Regional Training Webinars to support overall learning on the subject in the region, supporting launch of brand metrics monitoring protocol and following up with teams on agreed actions etc.

Key Responsibilities * Support regional social media training webinars working with Head of Communications.

  • Lead or Support regional training webinars on audience analytics / social listening / social media best practice.
  • Support teams with analytics for brand and campaign metrics and monitoring.
Minimum Qualifications:

Work experience in Digital & social media roles with some experience in working with social media metrics & monitoring will be preferred.

Required competencies:
  • Technical -
  • Experience with planning & creation of content for multiple social media channels and ability to conduct audience analysis and extract relevant information quickly and accurately
  • Training - Is able to transfer knowledge of best practices among regional teams through use cases and
  • Communication -
  • Strong English communication skills (especially speaking and writing)
  • Effectively presents data and information to colleagues.
  • Listens well to instructions and feedback.
  • Good interpersonal skills - able to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and show initiative.
Expected Guidance and Support/Developing Opportunities:

Regular guidance/support is available from supervisor.

Training/coaching opportunities in regional context also available.
