Job Purpose
You will be part of a team to drive and implement the Compliance Risk Management Framework and compliance requirements for all GE entities within the Group, by effectively supporting the business units in their duty to comply with relevant laws and regulations.
The Job
\xc2\xb7 Provide compliance advisory on regulatory requirements to business units; and be involved in new initiatives/projects to understand business units\xe2\x80\x99 concerns/needs and provide accurate and practical compliance advice to address regulatory, industry and Group requirements;
\xc2\xb7 Provide oversight and support to the local entities on general compliance matters/Group initiatives, including localisation of Group policies, standards and guidelines where required;
\xc2\xb7 Liaise, engage and provide support to parent company in their oversight of entities. Work with various stakeholders on regulatory related matters, information requests and regulators\xe2\x80\x99 queries promptly;
\xc2\xb7 Assess the impact of new/revised regulatory updates (including Consultation Papers) and conduct impact and gap analysis on these updates. Partner with Business Units on the implementation;
\xc2\xb7 Responsible to review the compliance event reporting (\xe2\x80\x9cCER\xe2\x80\x9d) from business units and local entities. This would include monitoring of the timely CER submission by business units and tracking of resolutions on action plans;
\xc2\xb7 Roll out Compliance Requirement Self Assessments (\xe2\x80\x9cCRSAs\xe2\x80\x9d) for applicable laws and regulations to the respective business units and work with the business unit to implement the required compliance controls. This would include to ensure the CRSA is finalised and signed off in a timely manner and tracking the resolutions of action plans when gaps are identified;
\xc2\xb7 Assist with the annual Compliance Requirement Self Assessments (\xe2\x80\x9cCRSAs\xe2\x80\x9d) for applicable laws and regulations. Work with business units to identify gaps, remediation actions and track action plans till closure in a timely manner;
\xc2\xb7 Responsible for the preparation and co-ordination work for compliance related matters, which shall include arrangement for the management meetings, preparation of meeting materials/ compliance related reports, information gathering and other administrative matters;
\xc2\xb7 Carry out ad-hoc tasks/projects as requested by the immediate Supervisor and/or Head of Group Regulatory Compliance;
\xc2\xb7 Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks;
\xc2\xb7 Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company; and
\xc2\xb7 Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
Qualifications
Our Requirements
\xc2\xb7 Bachelor Degree, preferably in Business, Insurance or Finance related fields;
\xc2\xb7 Minimum 5 \xe2\x80\x93 8 years working experience in the area of compliance/internal audit in the financial services industry;
\xc2\xb7 Sound knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements relating to the insurance/financial industry such as Insurance Act, Financial Advisers Act, MAS Notices/guidelines, Life Insurance Association guidelines etc;
\xc2\xb7 Lead initiatives;
\xc2\xb7 Self-motivated and driven;
\xc2\xb7 Meticulous, good analytical and problem solving skills;
\xc2\xb7 Good communication and interpersonal skills;
\xc2\xb7 Able to multi-task and work under pressure;
\xc2\xb7 High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude;
\xc2\xb7 Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
