Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant in the Department of Biochemistry/Precision Medicine TRP, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Research Assistant Prof Amaury Cazenave Gassiot\'s Laboratory is located at the Life Sciences Institute. The lab is fully equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, equipment, and core facilities. Appointment will be made on a one-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for at least one more year. The position is available immediately.

Purpose of the post

The project aims at consolidating and developing new procedures for lipid analysis in personalised medicine and therapeutics.

Main duties and responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be responsible for sample analysis using lipidomics workflows, from lipid extraction to analysed using high-end mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography systems apply lipidomics, to data analysis.
• He/she will work in collaboration with academic groups as well as clinicians at the National University Hospital, in variety of projects aiming at understanding the roles of lipids in health and disease.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess the following qualities:

• BSc in analytical chemistry, or equivalent experience
• Experience with liquid/liquid lipid extraction is a must
• Experience with LC/MS analysis of phospholipids is a must
• Experience with LC/MS method validation is a must
• Experience with LC/MS data analytics would be an advantage
• Good communication skills: fluent in spoken and written English
• Meticulous and reliable work attitude
• Capable of working in a fast-paced, multinational environment

Additional Info

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of his/her project in coordination with the supervisor and other members of the group, as well as for routine laboratory management duties (shared between all laboratory members).
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate\'s qualifications and experience.
