The mission of the Exercise Physiology Laboratory is to promote exercise prescription as a complement to, and partial to whole replacement for, drug prescription in the treatment of metabolic disease. The Research Fellow will work in partnership with the Principal Investigator in the planning and execution of projects undertaken by the lab, in charting the scientific direction for our research domains, and in building capabilities to push the frontiers of research in Exercise, Health and Ageing, and in the physiological bases for physical work tolerance in firefighters.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and procurement of equipment and expendable items that are needed to support the smooth execution of the research projects
Research design and planning, IRB application, coordination with stakeholders, human subject recruitment, pre-during and post-trial operation and data collection, data analyses, manuscript writing
Planning, strategizing and setting up collaborations
Constant horizons scanning, to be in touch with the latest development in the domain of research
Guiding and training post-graduate students
Support in TBL in MBBS programmes and courses conducted by the laboratory
Any other duties assigned by the PI
Key Requirements:
PhD in Biomedical / Life Sciences, with
10 years of post-doctoral training
Management and operation of biochemistry/ exercise physiology laboratory
High degree of proficiency in laboratory techniques and processes
Proficiency in ensuring safety practices and in meeting all regulatory requirements in the lab
Experience in supervising postgraduate students and publishing in peer review journals
