Trained in Computer Science or a related discipline with solid experience and track record in database research
Experience with spatial databases, multi-dimensional indices and/or computational geometry will be much preferred although not absolutely required.
Partake (and should be able to take initiative) in all stages required for the development and publishing of the PERFLEXO operators, including literature review, algorithmic design, implementation, and testing under the guidance of the PI (Prof. Kyriakos Mouratidis).
Qualifications:
Minimum a PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a closely related discipline from an institution of higher education
A solid track record, with publications in the main database conferences and journals
Experience with spatial databases, multi-dimensional indices and/or computational geometry will be much preferred although not absolutely required.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++ is required
Demonstrated experience and know-how on algorithms, data structures, indexing and their implementation
Good analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
Applicants with research publications in the database area will be advantageous
Self-motivated individual who can work independently and also collaboratively with team members
