Job Description

Position Summary



The Resident Architect (RA) will be stationed full-time on the project site to oversee architectural works, ensure compliance with approved design, statutory requirements and quality standards, and provide professional advice on architectural details and coordination. The RA plays a critical role in safeguarding design intent, statutory compliance, and assisting in resolving on-site construction issues.





Key Responsibilities



1. Design & Compliance Supervision



Ensure that construction works are carried out in accordance with the approved architectural drawings, specifications, and relevant codes (BCA, URA, SCDF, NEA, etc.). Review shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements for architectural works. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and liaise with authorities or QP as needed for inspections or clarifications.

2. Quality Assurance & Inspection



Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials, and progress. Prepare site observation reports and non-conformance reports when required. Witness and verify architectural tests & mock-ups, finishes, and material installations.

3. Coordination



Coordinate with Resident Engineers (RE), contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve site issues relating to architectural works. Participate in site coordination meetings and provide inputs from an architectural perspective. Ensure proper interfacing between architectural works and other trades (MEP, structural, ID works).

4. Documentation & Reporting



Maintain up-to-date records of all architectural inspections, reports, drawings, and correspondence. Issue site memos or instructions on behalf of the Architectural Consultant / QP as authorised. Support preparation of reports for client / consultant reviews.

5. Defects Management



Participate in inspections for practical completion (TOP / CSC) and final completion. Identify architectural defects and ensure rectification works are completed to an acceptable standard.

6. Safety & Regulatory



Promote site safety related to architectural works in coordination with the Safety team. Ensure that all architectural installations comply with workplace safety requirements.

Requirements





Education & Professional Qualifications



Degree in Architecture from a recognised university. Registered Architect (or eligible for registration) under the Board of Architects Singapore. Familiar with Singapore local codes and regulations (BCA, URA, SCDF, etc.).

Experience



At least 5 years of relevant site supervision experience on large-scale commercial / industrial / institutional / residential projects. Proven experience in managing quality and compliance for architectural works.

Skills & Attributes



Good knowledge of architectural detailing and construction methods. Strong coordination and communication skills. Able to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD and/or BIM viewing tools.

Additional Information



Full-time site-based position in Singapore. Willing and able to travel overseas for short-term site assignments, including to China. * May require overtime work or weekend inspections depending on site progress.
