Job Description

:

• Presenting as a professional and committed staff member
• Assistance in establishing an effective and responsive classroom environment where children are active participants
• Conduct or assist teaching and learning in the classroom
• Be responsible for student supervision
• Contributing to maintaining a positive learning environment
• Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the child centred curriculum for both the indoor and outdoor learning environments
• Responsible for group learning experiences
• Assist in supporting the positive development of children\xe2\x80\x99s social competencies
• Assist in the routine care of children where applicable (meal, toileting, rest)
• Maintain positive relationships with family
• Maintenance of materials, resources and equipment in classrooms
• Assist in the professional documentation and display of children\xe2\x80\x99s work
• Support and maintain positive classroom relationships where all members of the class are respected and valued
• Be actively engaged in supervision duties assigned
• Work as an active and collaborative team member
• All duty of care responsibilities
• Attend staff meetings
• Actively participate in on-going professional development
• Any other job duties as assigned by the Principal / HOD

Qualifications:

• Minimum Diploma in Education, Early Childhood, or Education related field
• At least 1 year of work experience
• Good communication skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Has nurturing disposition with patience and passion in working with children
