Job Description


Role Responsibilities

  • Our vision is to disrupt the organisation by attracting, developing, and deploying diverse early careers talent into areas of strategic importance.
  • This role is a Subject Matter Expert across at least one recruiting specialization with broad exposure to the others. Will coordinate and lead the contributions of others, whilst engaging and influencing senior business stakeholders. Will work in a consulting capacity across our partner teams and influence upward into regional recruiting affairs. Expected to take a lead role in recruitment and squad delivery.
Strategy
Demand and Data
  • Able to challenge and counsel on demand edits and raise appropriate issues with BU in the first instance. Responsible for directing their work or that of others to achieve targets
  • Able to analyse and disseminate metrics to engage with key stakeholders throughout cycle. Uses data to determine & communicate priorities. Understands key competitor intel and where we differ from these standard practices
Branding & Events
  • Advocate of SC that represents us in an informed and compelling fashion. Has a sound understanding of branding principles and is able to provide insightful and relevant data to the internal EB team, along with recommendations that consider local market nuance
  • Embodies SC values and can address audiences of up to 200. Can confidently speak on behalf of the bank and lead engagements with senior BU / multiple EC participants. Has a clear view and influence on our schedule of activity
Application Management
  • Maintains and engages with lists of target candidates at set intervals throughout the year to ensure ROI on activations. Has a strong understanding of the psyche of target demographic and is able to recommend and host appropriate sessions accordingly
  • Manages the application process across advertisement release, volume monitoring, closure, and shortlisting. Takes preventative action when volume, quality or diversity is in jeopardy.
  • Able to sell / defend assessment methodologies and actively seeks opportunities to solicit feedback and provide suggestions. Understands competitor processes.
  • A competent interviewer who can influence BU decision making.
  • Understands the psyche and value drivers of target demographic, bears this in mind when planning season with team. Ensure candidate needs are advocated and protected in process (balancing with commercial priorities).
Offer Management
  • Able to \'close\' candidates and analyse conversations for insights into brand and process. Oversees collective process to ensure completion
  • Keeps candidates warm by designing and leading activations to ensure constant contact, adhering to agreed schedule that involves BU participation. Tracks, flags, and investigates any offer reneges or rescinds
Diversity
  • Articulates the importance and requirements of diversity hiring in a compelling fashion to garner support internally. Able to advocate for these initiatives and lead in ideation and delivery of key programs
School & Competitor Communities
  • Has established relationships with key bodies in each school that extend beyond placement office and contacts at competitors, that can be called upon to share appropriate data. Actively fosters external relationships and represents SC at industry events to understand the competitor landscape
Business
  • Fosters relationships with key contacts and can adjust communication style to audience. Maintains client focus, whilst positioning self as a partner and trusted adviser. Display commercial sense in exchanges
Processes
  • Ensure contract execution and completion of pre-joining documentation and pre-employment checks are completed by support teams
  • Overall responsibility for marketing budgets, ensuring there is ROI for the investment spend on campus, branding and event management
People & Talent
  • Lead by example in setting tone and expectations of colleagues that is consistent with the Valued Behaviours. Clearly define priorities and individual objectives for direct reports and virtual teams. Connects objectives and growth plans with strategic priorities of the Bank and colleague aspirations
  • Lead indirect and matrix teams to deliver specific projects and deliverables as determined by the relevant scorecard metrics and agreed functional priorities
  • Prioritise development of talent to contribute to building strong leadership team succession pipeline for key roles
Governance
  • Understands and models to others the importance of compliance protocols and actively seeks to clarify and educate the team on key processes and timelines
  • Ensure adherence to the Bank\'s policies and processes governing campus (student) hiring
  • Utilise reporting to ensure a balanced interview slate, ROI on campus strategy, time to hire, diversity metrics etc and take remediation action if there is a problem with our pipeline
  • Responsible for delivering effective governance and controls, and if necessary, oversee changes in these areas in partnership with the campus lead.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\'s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
