Job Description

Restaurant Manager



General duties:





1.

Daily Operations Management



Oversee the entire restaurant operations to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently during all shifts. . Manage and oversee reservations, table assignments, and waitlists to maximise seating efficiency. Collaborate with kitchen and back-of-house teams for smooth service flow. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and presentation of the dining area and bar and hygiene at all times. Implement and maintain operational procedures and standards. Manage POS system operation and cash handling procedures. Prepare daily sales reports and assist with shift closing duties.


2. Team Leadership & Staff Management



Hire, train, schedule and supervise restaurant staff including waitstaff. Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage. Foster a positive team culture and encourage high morale and teamwork. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.


3.

Customer Experience



Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
o Greet guests warmly and ensure an exceptional dining experience from arrival to departure. o Handle customer feedback, compliments, and complaints in a professional manner.


Build rapport with regular customers to foster loyalty.


4.

Inventory & Cost Control



Monitor stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies. Coordinate with suppliers and oversee order placements. Manage food cost, wastage, and implement cost-saving initiatives.


5.

Financial & Administrative Duties



Petty cash & claims. Monitor daily revenue, costs, and other financial aspects of the restaurant. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. Implement cost control measures and minimize wastage.


6.

Social Media Management



o Plan, create, and schedule engaging content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook. o Promote new menu items, events, and promotions.


Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages in a timely manner.


7.

Branding & Online Presence



Maintain the restaurant's brand image and tone online. Ensure consistent photography style, captions, and visual themes. Work with designers or use simple tools to create visual content (e.g., Canva).


8.

Marketing Campaigns & Collaborations



Run social media ads and basic digital marketing promotions. Coordinate with food influencers, bloggers, or media for reviews and exposure. Track performance of marketing efforts and suggest improvements.


9.

Compliance & Safety



Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the restaurant. Stay up to date with licensing, hygiene, and safety requirements.
