Job Description

• To assist Project Manager in planning, implementing, maintaining, and aligning the safety, health, and environment of the project\'s site team towards the required legislations and site requirements.
• Assist the Register Safety Officer to plan and organize the safety team in terms of execution of safe work practices and procedures; identify and conduct safety training and seminars for staff and contractors; attend group meetings on health, safety, and environment in the committee meeting.
• Responsible for implementing safety, health, and environmental programs, and promotions and ensuring that the workforce complies with legal and other requirements.
• To keep up to date with changes in current legislation and to bring to the attention of the Project team any relevant new legislation
• To exercise general supervision and observance of the provisions of WSH Acts and Regulations on-site, assist workforce and supervisors in identifying Hazards and providing control measures.
• Carrying out site Daily Inspections on Safety Health & Environment, Conduct Toolbox Meetings and Conduct Training for Specific Tasks, Maintaining Registers, and Updating Stakeholders on WSH changes and site requirements.
• Act as a Project EHS Committee and Risk Assessment Committee and member of the corporate EHS Committee Conduct accident/injury investigations and illness exposure monitoring and report any hazard or incident to the management on time.
• Co-ordinate with internal and external audits and prepare action plans
• Conduct regular checks on site and identify the foreseeable hazards/risks and recommend the project management on the control measures
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure on-site operations must compliance MOM and NEA regulations.
• Submit monthly Safety & Health report to PM for actions
• Advise and Assist with Job Safety Analysis, Job Instruction Training, Safe Work Procedures, Method of Statement, Risk Analysis, and Conduct Environmental Monitoring of workplaces
• Conduct document reviews of WSHMS reports.
• Implement Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) and Risk Management (RM) plans within the scope of own work.
• Check and endorse (as a Safety Assessor) the applied permit-to-works by works engineers
• Assist the Project team in conducting risk assessment and checking over work methods, risk assessments, and precautionary measures with the project team and sub-contractors before starting work.
• Monitor the implementation progress of recommended WSHMS improvements.
• Support Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policy and procedures implementation.
• Identify areas for improvement in the WSHMS.
• Conduct a safety campaign to arise site staff and construction workers\xe2\x80\x99 awareness.
• Conduct In-House Training such as \xe2\x80\x9cFire Watchman\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cManual Handling\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cSafe use of Ladder\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cBanksman\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cJSA Training\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cSafety Induction Course\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cHazard Identification\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cWork at Height\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cConfined space Training\xe2\x80\x9d etc. to the workers and supervisors.
• Maintain all records by updating and assisting with site auditing, visitor inspection, client inspection, Authorities inspection, and others with prompt responses.
• Monitor Machinery and equipment records, and their maintenance schedules and participate in Equipment Pre-Entry & Site Audit Inspection.
• Risk Assessment Briefing, Safe Work Procedures Training, and conducting Safety Induction (SIC) for new employees.
• Conduct frequent Refresher training for all categories and ensure follow of the standard good practice on site.
• Coordinate EPRP drills and the maintenance of emergency response equipment.
• To ensure the implementation and monitoring of appropriate safety measures in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
