Direct Search Global is working with a SGX listed Maritime company to fill the role of Senior Accountant (General Ledger) in Singapore. The office location is in the Tuas area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure the punctual completion of the month-end close process, guaranteeing the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting with group policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain financial ledgers, manage accounting schedules, and conduct bank reconciliations.
• Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax and other statutory returns to government authorities.
• Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and accomplish assigned financial tasks.
• Provide support for internal and statutory audits, ensuring their timely completion and responding to identified issues and recommendations.
• Actively assess and recommend measures for continuous improvement in internal controls and business processes.
• Support various improvement initiatives and ad-hoc activities as required.

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Prior exposure to trading/manufacturing operations.
• A degree in Accountancy or an equivalent qualification with relevant professional certifications (ACCA/CPA).
• Strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge under Singapore GAAP and IFRS.
• Familiarity with SGX reporting and compliance requirements is an added advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Hands-on experience with SAP and other reporting software, such as SIGMA, COGNOS, and HYPERION.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and navigate a dynamic work environment.
