  • The Senior Actuarial Analyst/Actuarial Analyst will report to a Senior Actuarial Manager and will be responsible for actuarial modelling and analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and maximize value for the company.
  • The Senior Analyst/Analyst will work closely with the Senior Managers on the team and will work directly with the Chief Actuary. The role allows for maximum exposure to leaders within the actuarial team and across business functions and has excellent career development opportunities for strong candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production, review and analysis of actuarial reserve and capital calculations including ensuring internal controls/reconciliation and compliance with external reporting requirements
  • Responsible for actuarial modelling and analysis
  • for local Singapore reserve and capital requirements in line with Sun Life & regulatory requirements
  • for any new product initiatives, especially as related to local Singapore requirements
  • Provide technical guidance to the team and ensure quality deliverables with control and audit trail
  • Support on internal and external audits
  • Collaborate with other employees
  • to identify opportunity of processes improvements and analyses standardization
  • build, enhance and streamline processes to ensure efficient workflows and a strong control environment.
  • Conduct solvency capital forecast and analysis and contribute to optimization strategies and alternatives including reinsurance/capital management initiatives.
  • Proactively support the successful establishment of the new entity as a key strategic initiative for Sun Life.
  • Support and complete ad-hoc tasks and queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • be part of the Finance team to drive the IFRS 17 changes
  • take ownership in driving changes, implementing controls and automating processes
  • determined to follow through issues and ensure resolution
  • ability to progress in the absence of clarity and guidance
  • ability to analyze complex IFRS 17 issues and ensure turnaround within stipulated timelines
  • collaborate with various teams spanning across different time zones (including EST)
  • support the monthly financial close, statutory/regulatory reporting
  • other initiatives/projects/tasks assigned
Job requirements
  • Bachelor in Accountancy, Accounting knowledge and experience is essential
  • Audit, Insurance, IFRS 17, Actuarial knowledge is preferred
  • Auditors from established accounting firms are welcome to apply

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Life Insurance industry
  • Actuarial exam progression with a recognized international actuarial body
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel including VBA is required
  • Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Challenge status quo, take initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
  • Strong cross team collaboration skills
  • Experience with Moody\xe2\x80\x99s AXIS or an alternative actuarial modelling software is preferred
  • Experience with Singapore RBC 2 requirements is preferred
