Job Description


What the role is:The CDA is a new government agency that is being established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore's communicable disease preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. The CDA PO's role is to plan and execute the setup of the CDA, which will consolidate and build on the public health functions under MOH, the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, and the Health Promotion Board. To protect the health of Singaporeans by reducing the burden of communicable diseases through evidence-based policy formulation, implementation of effective disease prevention and control programmes, and epidemiological surveillance strategies. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:

  • Formulation, implementation, monitoring and review of disease prevention and control strategies. Develop and implement surveillance programmes and manage outbreaks/incidents Provide technical subject matter expertise for border health and work with other agencies for public health matters related to border and travel health. Programme management and administration Provide guidance and oversight over team members. Manage manpower-related issues, including the recruitment of staff, conducting performance review and nurturing of talent.
What we are looking for:
  • Tertiary qualification, preferably good honours in a life science discipline; or medical or nursing background Postgraduate degree in Public Health or Epidemiology or equivalent will be an advantage At least 5 years work experience in public health or border health Strong analytical skillsets, including grasp of data analysis techniques Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously on different projects Excellent organisational skills and resourcefulness Good inter-personal and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across disciplines Willing to work beyond office hours, especially during outbreaks Willing to continuously keep up-to-date on new developments in the communicable diseases field Able to lead and inspire others As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
