Job Responsibilities: You will be part of a team that works closely with our statutory boards and across Government to build vibrant industry verticals, promote a conducive business environment, attract new investments, and ensure that the fruits of economic growth benefits all Singaporeans.

What you will be working on:

Specifically, your team will: \xe2\x80\xa2 Champion the growth and transformation of industries that generate outsized impact and contribute to our economic heft \xe2\x80\xa2 Foster a fresh wave of innovative and bold strategic thinking on how to grow the Singapore economy further \xe2\x80\xa2 Optimise and unlock resource constraints to pursue and anchor key investments in strategic sectors \xe2\x80\xa2 Review the performance of individual sectors, identify opportunities for restructuring, and foster the growth of nascent sectors \xe2\x80\xa2 Design and implement fiscally prudent incentives and other tools to promote economic growth \xe2\x80\xa2 Evaluate business plans comprehensively and critically, including to ensure alignment with our economic strategies \xe2\x80\xa2 Analyse the impact and implications of global / regional developments on our economic strategies and policies \xe2\x80\xa2 Formulate Singapore\'s responses to emerging issues such as on economic security and supply chain resilience \xe2\x80\xa2 Shape public communications on our economic strategies and policies \xe2\x80\xa2 Oversee the corporate governance and resource allocation of the Economic Development Board and its subsidiaries, cementing their position as key agents of Singapore\'s economic growth You will have ample opportunities to work with the Ministry\'s Political Office Holders and Senior Management, partners from across Government (especially the Economic Development Board and Enterprise Singapore), and industry stakeholders. What we are looking for:

Suitability To excel in this role, you should be comfortable with: - Identifying blind spots and fearlessly questioning established norms - Facilitating vigorous debates, employing data, insights, and credible external perspectives in the process - Effectively converting knowledge and insights into practical frameworks, strategies and policy recommendations - Working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to organisational needs and priorities You should have: - intellectual versatility and curiosity - a positive and conscientious attitude, with a focus on results - an aptitude and passion for policy work - a firm grasp of basic economic concepts and principles - ability to work with multiple stakeholders - outstanding analytical and problem solving skills - excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills - keen interest in current affairs, especially in relation to global economic developments - preferably some familiarity with tools/methodologies in econometrics, strategy development, horizon scanning and competitive analysis
