Job Description


What the role is:The CDA is a new government agency that is being established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore\'s communicable disease preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. CDA will consolidate and build on the public health functions under MOH, the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, and the Health Promotion Board. To protect the health of Singaporeans by reducing the burden of communicable diseases through evidence-based policy formulation, the implementation of effective disease prevention and control programmes, including epidemiological surveillance programmes and timely outbreak response and management. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:

  • Formulation, implementation, monitoring and review of disease prevention and control strategies \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and implement surveillance programmes \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide technical subject matter expertise for travel health \xe2\x80\xa2 Programme management and administration \xe2\x80\xa2 Human Resource Management
What we are looking for:
  • Minimum tertiary qualifications from recognised discipline preferably in a life sciences, medical or nursing background \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum 5 years work experience in public health or travel medicineStrong analytical skillsets, including grasp of data analysis techniques \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously on different projects \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent organisational skills and resourcefulness \xe2\x80\xa2 Good inter-personal and communication skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across disciplines \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to work beyond office hours, especially during outbreaks \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to continuously keep up-to-date on new developments in the communicable diseases field \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to lead and inspire othersProven leadership skills and the ability to inspire others As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
