Job Description


Brief Summary of position: The Business Analyst is part of the Client Solution Group and is responsible for discovering, synthesizing, and analyzing information from a variety of sources within Numerix and the Client, including, processes, documentation, products, and stakeholders. They will be responsible for eliciting the actual needs of stakeholders to determine underlying issues and causes, and to design, describe and validate solutions that can deliver value.
Primary responsibilities:

  • Assist to fill-in RFP, participate to requirement gathering workshops, Product Demo or Proof of concept. Engage directly with pre-sales team members and client stakeholders to create solution artifacts that meet clients’ budgets, functional requirements, non-functional requirements, timelines, and longer-term growth plans.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks, data analysis, and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Facilitate stakeholder (external and internal) collaboration to drive change, decision-making and define business processes & data flows. Identify business and operational process improvements to streamline client and internal communications.
  • Document the necessary functional and non-functional specifications for solution development; help business and technology define appropriate non-functional requirements; Manage change in requirements based on defined process.
  • Assist the Head of CSG in writing SOW for new clients or the Project / Service Delivery Manager to fill-in the CR form for BAU Changes to produce effort estimates for tasks.
  • Work as a SME with the Clients, Product Managers, Financial Engineering Lead, and Implementation Engineer Lead to review, interpret and respond to client’s requirements to ensure alignment between customer expectations and current or future Solution and Product capabilities.
  • Interact with Product Managers to maintain a solid understanding of configurability within each Product including the capabilities available as part of the standard configurations as well as all potential configuration options to meet user requirements.
  • Assist in day-to-day project activities to ensure documented activities are monitored and completed on time; support project managers to provide weekly status updates and track project schedule. Be the owner and escalation point for issues arising during a project.
  • Plan, Participate and Coordinate test phases prior to implementation; develop test plans and execute functional test cases of the solution.

Experience and skills required:
  • 6+ years’ experience in the Financial Services industry consisting of at least 4 years directly working in front or middle office.
  • Strong analytical and business analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into functional, non-functional, and operational requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of market and counterparty credit risk analytics including Greeks, VaR, PFE, CVA.
  • Extensive knowledge of OTC Derivative products including valuation models and methodologies. Exposure to multiple Asset Classes (Rates, Equities and FX) a plus.
  • Familiarity with Product Structures, Curve Building, Pricing Models, Risk and Market and Reference Data.
  • Working knowledge of front office or middle office systems a plus: Bloomberg, Calypso, Murex, Misys, RiskMetrics, Algorithmics, Sungard.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS a plus.
  • Experience working with scripting languages like Python/VBA a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Education requirements:
  • Master’s in Quantitative Finance or MBA in Finance degree preferred
  • CFA or FRM a plus
