Job Introduction As part of the Commercial Planning & Analysis team, this role is key to supporting the APAC Finance team with the project management of forecasting / budgeting cycles across the region, and to provide decision support and create value for BBC Studios by using your exceptional relationship management, financial modelling, analytical and business case development skills, so bring commercial insights and business partnering support to the Asia markets. Main Responsibilities How you will contribute to the team:

• Along with the APAC CP&A Lead, become a regional point of contact for various group finance teams when it comes to forecasting, planning, reporting and financial system communications that needs to be disseminated across the APAC region.
• Along with the APAC CP&A Lead become a subject matter expert that the Head of Commercial Finance, Regional Finance Business Partners and Commercial Analyst colleagues can rely on during forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring the team meets all deliverables for submissions and reporting; taking specific ownership across APAC’s 1) regional corporate costs, 2) FTE / staff costs and 3) balance sheet / cash flow forecasts – providing recommendations to improve processes and deliver value add analysis.
• Become the SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) superuser for the region, participating alongside various group teams in projects focused on the continual improvement of financial reporting systems globally.
• Own the consolidation and reporting of APAC’s brand P&Ls, top title analysis & functional reporting to group and work closely with Regional Finance Business Partners to understand movements.
• Work with Regional Finance Business Partners in the consolidation of rolling forecasts and risks/opportunities as and when required; alongside the APAC CP&A Lead, lead in the preparation of review meeting packs with regional GM’s, the APAC and Group Leadership Teams.
• Work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner to gain an understanding of the revenues and cost drivers specific to the Asia sub-region (which includes markets across South East Asia, Korea, Japan, India), to provide analytical modelling, and commercial deal support, across a variety of lines of business (Content Sales, Affiliate Channel Sales, Licensing and Consumer Products)
• Produce & present financial and operational analytics that provide forward thinking insights enabling strategic decision support
• Collaborate closely with the various lines of business to provide deal support in the form of analysis, insights and recommendations that maximise value during negotiations with customers
• Produce business cases to support investment in new products, events, channels, campaigns
• Prepare industry and competitor analysis related to Digital / IPTV, Subscription and Free to Air Networks, Home Entertainment
• Collaborate with external partners to gather data that will inform financial and operational analytics
• Work with the heads of numerous lines of business and leverage your understanding of commercial drivers to support the development & submission of budgets and forecasts into finance systems
• Continually challenge current thinking and make recommendations on how to optimise business opportunities and minimise risk/cost to the business.
• Interpreting commercial contracts so that financial models reflect underlying commercial terms
• Provide advice and guidance to the business on any ad hoc commercial and contractual matters, to ensure optimum long-term value for BBC Studios
• Using your understanding of business systems and processes to determine divisional needs and identify new system opportunities or business processes which will provide added benefit
• Utilise and develop financial models and systems used by the CP&A team
• Provide support to the CP&A lead to deliver ad hoc value add / KPI analytics for the region
• Continually challenge current thinking and make recommendations on how to improve forecasting models, processes and procedures across the region.

Who you’ll be working closely with

• Daily: Heads of numerous lines of business and their operational teams across BBCS; Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner, Asia; Senior Commercial Analysts, Actuals and Reporting Team
• Weekly: APAC Head of Commercial Finance, APAC CP&A Lead, all Senior Commercial Finance Business Partners across APAC, APAC Business & Legal Affairs
• Monthly: Presenting to General Manager and the local Management Team, Asia
• Quarterly / As needed: BBC Studios group functions (London) – FP&A, Group Reporting, Customer Management Group, Content Partnerships, Tax, functional business partners etc

• Ability to balance project work with BAU requirements
• Experience working in multi market / regional FP&A focussed roles is preferred
• Ability to apply accounting knowledge to a commercial environment
• Ability to collaboratively design, build and review financial models for significant business initiatives.
• Experience using accounting software packages; SAP/S4 desirable.
• Very strong English speaking and writing skills.
• Experience in broadcasting, content distribution, media, telecommunications sectors

What education background is ideally suited to this role

• Degree qualified in Finance, Business, statistics or similar discipline
• Accounting experience with CA or CPA qualification desirable.
