Job Capsule The Engineer, Sustainability will be responsible for supporting the activities of the Global Sustainability team related to GHG emissions from marine and offshore vessels/assets as well a Job Capsule The Engineer, Sustainability will be responsible for supporting the activities of the Global Sustainability team related to GHG emissions from marine and offshore vessels/assets as well as activities associated with other sustainability related projects. These include but are not limited to benchmarking, statistical analysis and sustainability reporting. Job Duties/Roles 1. Maintain solid understanding of emerging regulatory framework related to GHG emissions and waste streams 2. Support the different projects, services, and other activities within the department. 3. Interact with clients to perform services offered by the Global Sustainability team and identify/resolve problems in the area of technical expertise. 4. Establish and manage client projects. 5. May update and inform the Global Sustainability team on regulatory changes and impact on ABS business. 6. May conduct seminars and workshops related to environmental performance of marine vessels and offshore units. 7. Support the associated service delivery across all geographic locations of Sustainability (Houston, Athens, Copenhagen, Singapore). 8. May contribute to authoring ABS publications and thought leadership documents. 9. Maintain awareness of the overall ABS service portfolio and promote services/products when appropriate 10. May attend industry events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends 11. Communicates the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the team to ensure the needs of the clients will be met 12. May identify opportunities for marketing campaigns within the area of responsibility that will lead to increased sales 13. Submit reports as needed and ensure data is accurately entered and managed within the company's CRM 14. Works as a team member within the group, but may work autonomously most of the time Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR) 1. Experience with either marine or offshore applications. 2. Knowledge of GHG regulations, impacts, and technology transition. 3. Experience with programming and advanced use of MS Office. 4. Must be capable of presenting and working with clients 5. Knowledge of related technical disciplines required 6. The ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to problems (i.e., the competence to demonstrate complex problem solving skills) 7. Ability to work well with others 8. Excellent communication skills (oral & written), enabling effective communication at multiple levels Strong commitment to ethical business practices, in full accordance with relevant corporate policies Minimum years of Experience 1. Typically requires a minimum of four (4) years of related engineering experience in a recognized research university, research institute, shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, or a classification society. 2. Previous experience in business development or sales in a technical and diverse product environment is preferred Required/Preferred Education Requirements Typically requires a BSc in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field with a focus on environmental performance. MSc degree preferred.
