What the role is:The Construction Noise & Vehicular Emissions Department (CNVED) is responsible for regulating and enforcing against excessive noise from construction sites and emissions from vehicles.What you will be working on:You will be part of the team to perform a wide range of duties centred on the regulation of the construction industry according to the noise guidelines and legislations. You are required to work closely within a team and with other departments. You will be responsible for the following:Inspect noise control measures at construction sites to ensure compliance by contractorsInvestigate and resolve construction noise complaintsCarry out compliance checks at construction sites to ensure that contractors manage their construction sites in compliance with the construction noise regulationsExecute appropriate enforcement actions against non-complianceRecord and report on observations/findings/enforcement actions taken and update status in NEA application (e.g. iCare2, EEMS2, iFOS)Manage the real-time noise monitoring system to ensure proper functioning of noise meters at construction sites and take follow-up action on the meters that are not functioning/removedWork with contractors to implement measures, including engaging residents, to minimise noise dis-amenity and complaintsWe are looking for highly-motivated and independent individuals to carry out enforcement duties to manage noise pollution from construction sites in Singapore.What we are looking for:Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/ Environmental Engineering or their equivalentA good team player and interacts effectively with others, possesses collaboration, analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsAble to handle adverse situations and difficult customersAble to perform shift work and night dutiesGood knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft ExcelAs part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.Applicants will be updated on the status of their applications within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.About National Environment Agency:The National Environment Agency (NEA) is the leading public organisation responsible for ensuring a clean and sustainable environment for Singapore.
