Job Description
To carry out inspection, investigation, customer engagement and enforcement activities to ensure and secure a supply of safe food for Singapore.
Duties
- Conduct inspection and sampling of imported food consignments and SFA licensed premises including food establishments and temporary fairs
- Enforce against breaches in legislative requirements, directions and licensing conditions
- Conduct investigation of feedback on food safety related matters including foodborne outbreaks
- Provide guidance and advice to SFA licensees in meeting the regulatory and food safety requirements
- Initiate and coordinate recalls of unsafe food products
- Assist in contingency operations involving food safety incidents
- Prior experience or knowledge in Food Science/ Food Technology/ Chemistry/ Life Sciences/ Biology or Science-related discipline
- Previous experience in the food industry or enforcement work is an advantage
- Possession of a valid Class 3 driving licence is an advantage
- Willing to work outside normal office hours and shift work
- Possess good communication, interpersonal and writing skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
