Job Description




The incumbent will be responsible for managing student life and wellbeing matters in the Faculty of Science and will provide a wide range of wellness support including establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students as well as organising wellness activities and workshops to the Science student community. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following -

Student Wellbeing

  • Provide first-line support and assessment of students and refer medium to high risk cases to the University Counselling Services (UCS).
  • Monitor & reach out to existing cases of at-risk students and students who are referred to UCS.
  • Offer individual consultation and/or pastoral care alongside the Assistant Dean.
  • Work closely with the academic units at the faculty and various stakeholders to support students based on their needs and concerns.
  • Manage cases of non-academic offence and provide care and support for them.
Student Engagement and Enhancement
  • Organize mental health programmes and workshops customised to the Faculty\'s needs and context.
  • Development and management of Peer Student Support Group (PSSG) at the Faculty of Science.
  • Manage PitStop @ Science together with PSSG from Science.
  • Hold support group sessions with students, giving them space and time to share their challenges.
  • Engage the student community and student groups through active participation in faculty events.
  • Design and market mental wellness activities and messages.
  • Engage the NUS community about mental wellness through social media.
Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info
  • A recognized University degree.
  • At least three years of experience in providing guidance and general wellness support to students/youth, including, ideally, experience in the management of individuals in crisis.
  • Experience in organising wellness activities and workshops.
  • Able to work in a team and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to work in both 1-to-1 scenarios and in a larger group, and with a diverse range of stakeholders (e.g., students, guardians, university staff, healthcare professionals).
  • Resourceful with good organization, planning and project management skills.
  • IT and digital media savvy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, designing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe, etc.) and social media applications.
- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent\'s performance and the University/School\'s prevailing remuneration policies.

- The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.
