Senior Finance Manager APJ The Senior Finance Manager APJ- FP&A is a senior manager position reporting into APJ Senior FD. This key role will be assisting APJ Finance lead in all FP&A matters and business partner with APJ SLT to drive growth and transformation initiatives in APJ business. The role will be based in Singapore, however travel will be required as necessary both within APJ and to the US.

Overview of the Role You will lead all APJ decision support, financial planning and analysis within the different field organization/business units; help lead the development and implementation of the reporting solution(s) to provide executive management with a contribution margin view by business units to drive accountability and interlock ownership.
You will work very closely and effectively with various accounting groups, such as regional controllers, Corporate G/L, Shared Services A/P and procurement, Revenue Recognition; engage in tax, treasury and other finance related activities as issues evolves as and when necessary.
Other key areas in supporting the country management teams will include scorecards creation and management based on geo and region contribution margin. This will require a broad range of Sales and Services finance experience including sales operations, business analysis, business strategy, creation of key business performance metrics and tracking mechanisms, incentives design and execution, deal modeling, financial statement reporting, accounting, business systems and internal controls. In addition, the role may participate in APJ/global FP&A activities, supporting the APJ/Worldwide Field Finance operations team in enabling fact-based decision making and drive performance management. You will be a catalyst to improve and establish processes with a constant drive towards automation.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Decision Support


  • Primary business partner to APJ senior executives to help define their financial operating priorities and provide the business analytics and insight to drive license growth.
  • Participate as a member of the APJ management team in defining the operational strategy and priorities; participating in business reviews.
  • Will own the financial planning effort for the APJ operating areas. This will involve integration of many of the operating and performance metrics of the field areas into incentives, financial targets and models across many functions and lines of business within APJ. This also includes developing the analytical tools that effectively measure progress against APJ objectives.
  • Innovative analysis that points to trends that shape the future changes in go-to-market and or field model.
  • Will lead the effort to develop business case and ROI analysis to support investment in new initiatives: capital, business model shifts. Work closely with the Sales Operations team to assess sales performance.
  • Communicate key financial information to the senior field leadership team.
  • Revenue recognition education/assurance.
  • Responsible for license and first year maintenance models; services model (consulting; education; training).
  • Ultimately provide visibility to the top line bookings and contribution margin line performance while seeing trends and issues between these key metrics and put in place an early warning system that protects the organization from surprises.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Will support APJ Sales Operations quarterly sales forecasts, ensuring that they accurately reflect up-to-date business conditions.
  • Drive the coordination and distribution of financial planning and financial results with appropriate references to the underlying operating drivers.
  • Drive business controls (support SOX compliance).
  • Drive economic business models

SKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and business partnering skills with a team-oriented and

go-forward based management style.
  • Significant experience with financial and business planning processes including forecasts, budgets and flash processes.
  • Experience as the leader of/or business partner to the accounting function with knowledge in the area of financial reporting, software revenue recognition and accounting information tools such as business intelligence reporting.
  • Excellent business acumen, solid understanding of key sales/field productivity metrics and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to provide and communicate executive level presentations.
  • Experience managing multi-cultural remote teams.
