The Senior Growth & Development Specialist (Submarine Cable) position is a network tactical role which is well suited for an exceptional individual that has tremendous interpersonal skills. This individual will be both network and commercially savvy to create internal business cases to “green light” builds (submarine cables & cables landing stations) that will address Telstra’s immediate and future infrastructure requirements/investments. This individual will also be involved in high profile customer opportunities, which works side by side with the Account teams. This is a critical role in completing and packaging deals by providing the technical knowledge and expertise to help build a solution for our customers/partners. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and own all commercial negotiations on new and existing submarine cable builds for Telstra
  • Works closely with cable consortium members and negotiating on behalf of Telstra
  • Project management of submarine cable projects from developmental to completion stage
  • Use a range of communication and relationship building skills to establish and manage partners, vendors, and key strategic relationships to ensure successful project outcomes/results
  • Engage and collaborate within a diverse, multi-stakeholder landscape (e.g. Client Executives, Business Development Managers, Solution Specialists, Deep Domain Specialists, Bid & Delivery Teams, legal counsel, Telstra Partners) to translate complex projects & opportunities into leading edge customer solutions
  • Support innovation and lead components of continuous improvement activities for the identification of sales, solution design, negotiation methods and sales delivery approaches that support sales capability development
  • This role is customer facing and quota bearing.
Skills:
  • Strong technical understanding of network infrastructure builds, especially submarine cables and network operations/management
  • Has the ability to bring together cross-functional communities to align on strategic network infrastructure builds (submarine and terrestrial fibre), buy and swaps
  • Acquired strong relationships with the world’s largest hyperscalers & submarine build partners to lead negotiations.
  • Strong network tactical background
  • Technology savvy – excellent understanding of the concepts of how technology works for the purpose of enhancing productivity and efficiency
