What the role is
As an integral part of the Actuarial team under Healthcare Finance, you will provide actuarial support through working closely with the policy teams in Healthcare Finance and external actuarial consultants. You will also develop stochastic and risk-based models to support the development and refinement of healthcare financing policies and schemes. You will be working in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
What you will be working on
You will: • Perform actuarial analysis for MediShield Life (MSHL), CareShield Life (CSHL), and ElderShield (ESH) to ensure sustainability of these government-administered insurance schemes, including working closely with external actuarial consultants on pricing, valuation, and solvency management • Set up internal models to support agile policy analysis for these schemes, including premium impact with enhancement in benefits/premium structure or any significant changes in operational processes • Monitor scheme experience and provide input to policy teams on premium and payout adjustments • Support Healthcare Finance policy teams with necessary actuarial and stochastic modelling work such as projection of future healthcare costs, risks/drivers of healthcare costs, and Basic Healthcare Sum
What we are looking for
• Tertiary qualification in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance/accounting, or economics. • Fellow or Associate of a recognised international actuarial body • 3-5 years of working experience in data analytics, stochastic modelling, and pricing and valuation modelling • Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in analytics software • Good people skills to foster close partnerships with internal and external stakeholders • Able to work independently and displays initiative • As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment
