About this role
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of relevant experience providing the design of ICT physical infrastructure to support active and passive systems such as structured cabling systems, extra-low voltage building control and communications systems. The skills required for this role include technical site surveys, site investigations, management of site installation activities, knowledge of building services prerequisites for ICT systems including power, heat and environmental criteria for safe operations and technical assurance when delivering ICT physical infrastructure.

What will I do?

• Design of ICT physical infrastructure to support active and passive systems such as structured cabling systems, extra-low voltage building control and communications systems
• Provide technical authorship and ownership of solution designs to meet client requirements aligned with the strategic direction of our ICT services
• Develop the performance specification for ICT works using AutoCAD and/or BIM, including detailed calculations, technical specifications, drawings etc. for calling the construction tender.
• Liaison with clients, contractors, companies, suppliers and internal / external multi-disciplined engineering teams
• Carry out QA checks of drawings and documentation completed by the team producing design deliverables such as Technicians / Engineers / Design Consultants

What will I bring?

• At least 6 to 10 years of relevant experience and understanding of building ICT infrastructure and the design of resilient ICT systems, including ICT equipment rooms, pathways, containment system and risers for data centre, operations centre; structured cabling system design for in-building and outside plant; and MEP facilities for ICT
• Professional degree related to the role or equivalent experience in related industry sectors.
• Ability to develop working relationship with key clients and suppliers at all levels.
• Ability to plan and create documents / reports / design processes appropriate to the needs of the recipient.
• Demonstrable ability to provide agile working, schedule and programme management and prioritising workloads
