Summary Salary: Competitive Team: Operational Engineering Location: Singapore - Technology Centre
About us
We lead the scaling of a new product to high-volume production. This involves assessing the feasibility of the product designs, modifications to ensure manufacturability at scale, as well as available resources and equipment. We collaborate with the product design team to develop a detailed process, considering factors such as materials, tooling, equipment, and labour. We also oversee prototype testing and validation to ensure that the production process and quality standards are met. We will then launch the product and ramp-up production, conducting continuous monitoring and analysis to identify areas for improvement, to reduce costs, and ensure competitiveness in the market.
About the role
The role requires you to lead and oversee the industrialisation process for new products and technologies within the manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless transition from product development to full-scale production, driving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, procurement, and quality, to develop and implement robust industrialization strategies and optimize manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the industrialisation process for new products and technologies, collaborating with Category Engineering team, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
Category team will provide Process and Test Specifications to be worked into Equipment Specifications.
Develop and implement comprehensive industrialization strategies, including manufacturing plans, timelines, and resource allocation, to meet production targets and quality standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability, ensuring smooth and efficient production processes.
Coordinate pilot production runs and process validations to assess manufacturing feasibility, identify potential issues, and propose corrective actions.
Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials, components, and equipment for production ramp-up.
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flowcharts, to ensure consistent and standardised operations.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans to address potential production challenges, such as capacity constraints, quality issues, or supply chain disruptions.
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, yield, quality, and costs, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Provide technical support to sustaining teams, troubleshooting process issues, and driving root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
Collaborate with equipment vendors and external partners to specify, select, and validate manufacturing equipment and tooling.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices, such as ISO 9001 or industry-specific certifications.
Lead cross-functional teams in process optimization projects, coordinating activities, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in industrialization and manufacturing processes, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
