Job Description


Role Purpose
Applies business requirements and knowledge of software development lifecycles to design, produce and guide the development of complex software products or customer solutions within the FX Exchange Engineering & Technology space.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities

  • Contributes to and develops high-quality software design and architecture
  • Identifies, prioritises and executes tasks in the software development life cycle
  • Develops tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
  • Designs, develops and delivers software solutions that align with architecture, operational and risk processes
  • Works closely with the Research, Product and Sales teams to deliver products, services, enhancements and solutions to meet customer needs and align with the goals of the business line
  • Automates tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Supports validation and verification testing
  • Collaborates with internal teams (including Product Owners/Business and Client Analysis) and vendors to fix and improve products
  • Provides expert technical leadership as required

Essential experience:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • More than 5 years of experience in application development and enterprise software design
  • Foreign Exchange Trading technology
  • Secure in knowledge of C++ 11/14/17
  • Multi-threading & concurrency
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies
  • Proficient at delivering quality software
  • Atlassian Jira and Confluence
  • CICD tooling such as Git/Gitlab/Bamboo/BitBucket/Sonarqube
  • Application Security Tools such as Veracode/Coverity/Blackduck
  • Continuously adopt a pragmatic, flexible and responsive approach
  • Hands on experience of automation
  • Linux

Preferred:
  • FX Options knowledge
  • FIX 5.x
  • REST
  • Windows

Business and sector expertise
  • Experience in FX industry & regulated environments required
  • Experience in broader financial markets preferred
  • Leadership and management experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
