The Legal team is a progressive and forward-thinking team that is committed to providing a high level of service to all clients. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to assist the General Counsel in managing and overseeing the legal aspects of the growing global business. The team is expanding and is looking to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel with experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).

Client Details

Our client is a consultancy group specialising on infrastructure and urban development wholly owned by the Singapore government's investment company, Temasek Holdings. Our client has built more than a million homes in Singapore and developed over 100 industrial parks globally. Infrastructure work include housing, roads, rail, hydropower, dams, underground and costal protections. To date, our client has more than sixteen thousand employees across the group including planners, engineers, architects and designers. The Legal Department is expanding and they are looking for Senior Legal Counsels to join their team to manage and oversee the legal aspects of their growing global business.

Description

• Provide wide spectrum of construction related legal matters (including reviewing and negotiating EPC contracts and related financial transactions) for both Singapore, overseas and cross-border projects
• Advise on a variety of general commercial and construction related documents, including tender documentation, Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC) and request for proposals
• Assist with the spectrum of financial and commercial issues relating to real estate development and infrastructure works where required

Profile

• Law degree (LL.B) from a recognised university and called to the Singapore Bar with a minimum of 7 years PQE
• Experience as an in-house counsel in the EPC industry and/or private practice will be an advantage
• Be a strategic thinker with a solution oriented approach
• Strong track record in managing both complex and routine matters independently, and have experience managing external counsels
• Passionate about coaching/mentoring team members and training clients
