Job Details
Reporting to the Principal Corporate Counsel, the Senior Legal Counsel is expected to provide legal support to RightShip's global business and partner closely with the senior leadership team in day-to-day legal work and special projects.
Major Responsibilities
Provide legal support to RightShip’s Sales and other internal functions such as Strategy & Partnerships, Commercial, Product, Operations and HR
Render legal support to corporate transactions and undertake special projects as required
Draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts, MOUs, NDAs, license agreements, services agreements, framework agreements, data transfer agreements, partnership agreements, marketing and procurement agreements, leases, letters of undertaking, compliance forms and other legal documents
Advise on all legal and regulatory matters, including disputes, corporate secretarial and employment-related matters, and handle all aspects of legal documentation
Undertake legal due diligence and related risk assessments, and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations such as in the areas of data protection, data transfer and sanctions
Advise on formulation of RightShip’s commercial strategy from legal perspective and support the development of RightShip’s overall business strategy by considering ways to maximise business value while mitigating risks
Keep abreast of new legal and regulatory developments in relevant jurisdictions and develop legal strategies, including delivery of staff training, to align RightShip’s practices with external legal and regulatory requirements
Manage all aspects of RightShip’s global intellectual property including trademark registrations
Manage RightShip's relationships with external legal service providers in multiple jurisdictions
Attend to legal administrative matters including those on the Salesforce platform
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and admitted to the Singapore Bar
6 years of legal experience at the minimum, including significant corporate and commercial experience handling a wide variety of commercial agreements and corporate transactions
Experience working in a top-tier legal firm and as an in-house legal counsel for a technology firm or within the wider technology support sector highly advantageous
Sound business acumen with the ability to present legal advice in a commercially focused manner
Deep competence in contract law with demonstrable skills and capabilities in drafting complex commercial contracts and proposing feasible alternatives to Business
Astute negotiator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic, proactive, analytical and able to manage multiple priorities effectively and independently
Result-oriented and committed to high work standards
Able to develop strong working relationships internally and externally
