Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Provides comprehensive legal advice and support to internal clients across the various offices of Company, particularly in Singapore, under the direction of the Company Chief Counsel and in coordination with other relevant members of the global legal team.
• Provide legal advice and support with respect to the full range of potential legal issues arising in Company, including but not limited to: commercial contracts, finance & treasury issues, mergers & acquisitions, intellectual property, taxation, labor, immigration, litigation, leases, compliance, corporate governance, corporate secretariat, and regulatory matters.
• Seek specialist support from available internal legal resources and collaborate with other members of the Company global legal team to ensure the consistency of relevant legal advice.
• Engage and manage outside counsel on an as-needed basis.
• Act as board secretary or assistant secretary for companies, cover for Company Chief Counsel during absences and manage the affairs of the legal team.
• Prioritize incoming work; prepare reports to Company Chief Counsel and other relevant stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as directed by Company Chief Counsel.

Requirements:

• Legal degree from a recognized and accredited institution, with qualification to practice law in a recognized and acceptable jurisdiction.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in an in-house legal department and/or a law firm.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent research, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of business needs.
• Discrete with highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Approachable personality and good client relationship skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to the evolving portfolio of an in-house generalist legal practitioner.
