In this role

The Senior Legal Counsel will report to the VP, International Legal and will be responsible for supporting revenue transactions for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. This role shall serve as legal advisor to Pure stakeholders in this region and work cross-functionally to negotiate and close commercial transactions. The Senior Legal Counsel will achieve success by providing proactive, pragmatic and solution-oriented legal advice and guidance to a fast-growing revenue organization that is excited about the future of Pure.

SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL - JOB DESCRIPTION

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Act as a trusted business partner and advisor in commercial strategy and GTM initiatives by providing primary contractual support for the sales organization in APJ.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of agreements, including end user agreements, partner agreements (including GSI and MSP contracts), subscription agreements, professional service agreements, and statements of work.
  • Negotiate commercial deals to contractual closure, including briefing senior management on legal matters.
  • Advise and counsel on regional or country-specific revenue related legal issues by educating/training relevant stakeholders and sharing such knowledge with others in Pure Legal.
  • Assist in the development of standard language, templates, playbooks, regional processes, etc.
  • Liaise closely with other members of Pure Legal to ensure consistent advice and process implementation.
  • Partner will Deals Desk and Finance to ensure process compliance
  • Assist with delivering training to regional employees on legal issues and compliance topics, as may be determined by Pure's Compliance Counsel.
What You Will Need to Bring to the Role:
  • Admitted to practice law in Singapore.
  • 8+ years of law firm or in-house experience, with strong knowledge of commercial law, trade law, and government/public sector commercial work.
  • Experience negotiating B2B hardware and software agreements required, with a preference for data storage/services, SaaS and/or cloud solutions experience.
  • Experience with sales or contract management platforms (i.e., Salesforce) preferred.
  • Excellent communicator and strategic thinker with the ability to scale and guide business through growth.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented team player, with the flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team/collaborative environment with team members across the globe.
  • Ability to prioritise and handle multiple projects simultaneously and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to listen thoughtfully, evaluate risk in light of business and practical considerations, and make clear recommendations.
  • Fluency in Japanese preferred but not essential
  • Not be afraid to think outside the box and come up with new ideas to build a better Pure.
