Job Purpose
The Office of Alumni Relation’s (OAR) mission is “to nurture mutually beneficial and lifelong relationships with alumni and engage them along NUS’ aspirations”. The Alumni Communications and Engagement (ACE) team exists to serve this purpose by reaching out to and strengthening bonds with the University’s 330,000-strong alumni community in the following ways:
engaging alumni through multiple integrated marketing and communications platforms and developing a compelling and integrated brand and communications strategy that will nurture a sense of belonging in the University’s future alumni, inspire and intensify alumni pride in its current alumni; and
engaging alumni in a wide range of programmes and activities (in-person and online).
About 80 initiatives and events are organised annually to cultivate and engage all alumni and sometimes students. These include sports activities, enrichment workshops, alumni group meetings, talk and seminar series, film festivals, monthly movie nights, networking sessions and themed functions.
In addition to OAR-run activities, the team also supports programmes and events initiated by the 77 alumni groups and 22 overseas alumni chapters; and are involved in sponsorship activities, bank affinity card collaboration and the administration of AlumPerks, AlumAPP, conNectUS, students and alumni bursary programmes.
Duties & Responsibilities
The incumbent will assist the Division Head in the following key areas:
Alumni Engagement
Keep up to date on global and regional trends that may be relevant to diverse groups of alumni
Research, conceptualise, and organise customised programmes and activities to engage alumni of all ages
Identify potential partners for collaboration
Actively engage different cohorts of alumni through alumni activities and programmes organised by the Office and its collaborating partners.
Lead and supervise the delivery of high quality and thoughtful events with internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with Faculties, Schools, Halls and Residential Colleges leveraging and synergising University resources to plan and execute alumni programmes
Marketing & Communications
Working with the communications team, develop marketing and publicity campaigns and/or programs to create awareness and drive participation of events/products created
Integrate content marketing programs with event marketing to ensure outreach
Measure and optimise content marketing projects on a regular and ongoing basis
Innovate and initiate new communication initiatives to engage alumni and encourage connection and engagement
Keep up-to-date on key alumni news and activities, current affairs and trending activities
Manage crisis communications and execute response strategies when necessary.
Qualifications
A recognised degree and preferably 8-10 years of experience with proven track record in Non-profit management/Business/Marketing/Events Management
Keen interest in global trends and socio-economic developments in Singapore and regionally
Possesses good project management, organisational and presentation skills; able to meet deadlines and produce quality work with keen attention to details
Versatile, resourceful, meticulous and driven individual with superior analytical and research skills.
Good people management skills and the ability to communicate well with people from diverse backgrounds.
Adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Willing to work after office hours and occasionally on weekends.
Experience with CRM systems and CMS (Sitefinity), and a working knowledge of video production, design and website development are added advantages.
