In your new role you will:

  • Heads the Health Safety Security & Environment (HSSE) team for Singapore which covers a manufacturing plant (BE SIN), Asia Pacific headquarters (APHQ), a satellite office (Solaris) and regional distribution center (DCA).
  • Provide day to day operational coverage for all health, safety, security and environmental needs.
  • Role model safety leadership.
  • Site sustainability champion as the Sustainability Plan owner.
  • Lead all physical site activities from site patrolling to surveillance management and is the single point of contact to corporate BC.
  • Site BCP coordinator and acts as the Site Disaster Prevention Organization (DPO).
  • Lead HSSE related investigation and 8D process to determine root cause with short- and long-term solutions.
  • Develop and prepare reports for local regulatory such as Police Force, MOM, NEA, SCDF etc.
  • Owns internal NZC data reporting for the site.
  • Regulate the sites permit to work system and conduct joined site reviews and assessments before any JOHAN and MSRA for site is approved.
  • Lead the site\'s Human Rights initiative in accordance with local and corporate guidelines.
  • Manages site accessibility (general & restricted) and badging requirements.
  • Manages electronic parking systems, car parks and traffic management.
  • Design and sustain the site\'s security concept such as CCTV coverages, door card readers, IDS, emergency door releases etc.)
  • Conduct security vulnerability assessment along with BCMS audits & certifications.
  • Shift change, locker checks and bag check management.
  • Critical scrap process management.
  • Holds the site\'s master key.
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
  • Lead team/ department staff meetings.
  • Conduct and participate in management safety and security walkabouts.
  • Participate monthly/ quarterly and yearly budget update and forecast meetings inter department meetings (finance etc.) with facilities management.
  • Provide accruals for the department each month and update our spends forecast.
  • Owns the site\'s sustainability plan via waste management, green programs, and reduction of plastic use as part of overall Facilities Management Master Plan.
  • Ensure timely submission of site ESH data reporting for the site to corporate and waste data to NEA.
  • Lead, organize & participate actively in various HSSE activities (E.g. Health & Safety Training, Safety Risk Assessment review, correction of HSSE hazards and unsafe conditions in the plant).
  • Demonstrate commitment to Health & Safety by communicating Health & Safety information to employees, being knowledgeable of specific compliance requirements in areas of responsibilities and verifying active implementation.
  • Draft, update and ensure compliance of site HSSE policies.
  • Lead team to develop site Health Safety Security & Environment procedures, programs, and controls including measurements & results analysis. Obtain management endorsements and support from all functions.
  • Develop & Maintain site Emergency Response team\'s capabilities, efficiency and readiness.
  • Ensure complete and thorough investigations for all HSSE related incidents (DCA included); and timely follow-up all recommended actions by respective assigned employees.
  • Responsible for the effectiveness of safety training programs to all new employees.
  • Monitor all new or changes in HSSE related regulations; and ensure that the plant has programs and control in place to ensure good compliance.
  • Maintain an effective industrial hygiene and health program to monitor employee exposures to chemical and physical risks; ensure no occupational related health problems.
  • Advise management as a subject matter expert in all HSSE matters as stipulated in local government
HSSE related legislations & requirements. * Lead and participate in accident investigation and reporting, server as key HSSE resources for the team.
  • Work closely with local Government Authorities to ensure plant has all the relevant working permits and licenses regarding HSSE matters. Maintain a good working relationship with all the relevant authorities.
  • Support all functional tasks assigned by functional leader as and when required.
  • Network with other security personnel in the same industry.
  • Liaison office to the airport police for Known Consignor Regime.
  • Lead supply chain security such as shipping lanes, DCA issues, and local routes with Malaysia and Batam.
  • Implementation of corporate security rules and protocols.
Your profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • Diploma/ certification in engineering, real estate, workplace safety or equivalent.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, real estate, finance, human resource or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Min 20 years experience in an environment, health and safety role.
  • Preferably with min 10 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing/ chemical plant/ oil & gas.
  • Registered as a Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower.
  • Strong experience in leading ESH and delivery program through others.
  • Experience as a people manager is a plus.
  • Certified Fire Safety Manager (FSM) is a plus.
  • Water Efficiency Manager (WEM) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 & Safety Management Systems are added advantages.
  • Strong Leadership skills, a team player and good communication and interpersonal skills.
