Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management, Wealth and Personal Banking, Singapore.
Principal Responsibilities
Global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a sub function of Group Risk. Its purpose is to make sure HSBC understands and is in control of its non-financial risk position. In addition, the function provides resilience risk stewardship to the Regional Business and Functions and the entities we operate in. This is achieved through:

• Completing analytical assessments and opining on the control environment of the First Line of Defence (1LOD) within Businesses, Functions and Regions
• Constructive challenge to all businesses, functions and entities within country on their control environment and assessment of risk
• Oversight of emerging risks, strategic business initiatives and local change activity and new/materially changed products
• Analysis of risk exposure across all bank operations and territories to inform capital management and stress testing requirements
• Completing thematic reviews and aggregated reporting of the Non-Financial Risk profile of the bank
• Responsibility for the implementation of HSBCs Risk Management Framework (RMF) that sets out governance, policies and practices to proactively identify, assess, measure and report on, mitigate and control operational risk exposures associated with HSBCs businesses and operations at all levels of the organisation.
• The role holder is responsible for ensuring that Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Segments and Products businesses in Singapore (including Insurance and Asset Management) establishes and adheres to standards for the management of operational risk as set out in the Groups framework for Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk Management, and that resilience risks are managed within appetite.
• The role holder will have responsibility to provide operational and resilience risk oversight for Wealth and Private Banking Segments and Products businesses in Singapore, including Insurance and Asset Management:

• Ensure the integrity and timely completeness of risk and control identification, assessment and information within the Groups Risk and Control system of record (Helios) as well as directing documented remediation plans for residual risks
• Supporting with thematic reviews across Singapore to ensure that risk and control environment is commensurate with the scale and nature of operations
• Supports Singapore operational and resilience risk management and acts as a key contact and escalation for senior stakeholder engagement
• Supports embedding the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and provides advice, guidance and challenge in relation to ERM oversight and internal control effectiveness within Singapore.
• Provides 2LOD oversight of top and emerging risks, ensuring Singapore can mitigate these timely and cost effectively
• Attends Singapore control meetings and non-financial risk governance forums, providing both Operational Risk oversight and robust and timely Risk Steward challenge of the First Line of Defence (1LOD) view of the resilience risk profile as required.
• Supports developing and promoting an increasingly insightful process-based view of ERM risks
• Supports the implementation and embedding of the ERM functional strategy
• Applies risk stewardship review and challenge over Resilience Risk RCAs and control environment

Requirements

• Strong understanding of processes, risks and controls relating to Retail, Wealth, Private Bank, Asset Management and Insurance Segments and Products
• Strong level of risk management knowledge and relevant experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, geopolitical, competitor etc)
• A BA or BS University Degree preferable in relevant discipline
• Professional qualifications (e.g. HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework on Cybersecurity, Information Systems Audit and Control Association certification or equivalent qualification from a recognised professional body) may be advantageous
• Previous experience and/or knowledge in Resilience Risk types, especially on Technology (including Cyber) Risk, Data & Information Risk and Payments and Transaction Processing Risk, will be advantageous
