Job Description

Objectives of the Position:

  • Incumbent will steer a new digital commerce platform to generate business growth in multiple business units in region Asia Pacific, and to create and deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Focus of the role will be on end-to-end conceptualizing and executing the setup of the platform in a cross-unit context, by leading a project team consisting of regional marketing units of Operational Division (OD) / Business Units (BU), Local Business Managements (LBM) with close coordination with Global Digital Services teams
Responsibilities:
  • Steer and develop a new digital commerce platform in the Region from concept generation to execution
  • Lead the project team (marketing, sales, digital services) to establish the appropriate business models and end-to-end process of the Webshop platform from front-end for customers to back-end for integration with the relevant BASF ecosystems
  • Design the project and lead through the project phases:
1) Analysis and consulting selection

2) Business model definition with units

3) Develop the platform and tools and implement the business models
  • Project-manage the implementation, including high level communications to Presidents and RBU heads on milestones, running steering committees, aligning with key stakeholders with 3-4 Operating Divisions globally and regionally
  • Develop strategy to create the seamless customer experience, to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy, and drive the business results
  • Integrate people, performance, processes, and technologies across business and functional teams to ensure solution focus and deliverables for achieving cost efficiencies and better customer experience via this digital commerce platform
  • Co-create and grow the customer-oriented culture in the Region to support the business units' growth by driving organizational mindset shift, moving from transactional focus to competitive customer experience differentiation and increasing revenue generation capabilities
  • Continuously improve the business processes, identify further potential for cross-unit synergies and optimize the business model to target for profitable growth
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/ Business Administration/ Information Technology or any related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in marketing or eCommerce and possess good knowledge in digital channels, marketplaces, online retailers in B2B or B2C environment.
  • A wide knowledge of the chemical industry in the Asia Pacific market, e.g. business strategies, positioning, competitor and other stakeholders, regulatory and other statutory requirements, supply chain and logistics and good understanding of products / services of relevant business units would be highly preferred
  • With leadership experience in leading diverse teams and work trustfully with diverse range of senior stakeholders and business partners.
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive, result-oriented, analytic, strategic thinker and excellent project management skills
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced and pressured environment
  • Outstanding communications and presentational skills with high level of organizational savviness, cultural sensitivity and appreciation of the demands of conflicting interests.
