Build Gallery\'s Library collection and resources through collaborations with curators, artists, artist families, art collectors, libraries, archives and galleries in Singapore and the region
Maintain holdings of the library, which includes fumigation, conservation, meta-data creation, accessioning, cataloguing, research and digitisation
Manage library operations online and on the ground at the Rotunda including shelving, managing front of house and equipment as well as handling enquiries from staff and external researchers about the holdings of Library & Archives
Oversee updates and improvements of the online Collections Search Portal (Library component) and, revamp of web content related to Library and Archives, ensuring discoverability and accessibility of our collections, content and offerings
Work closely with Head, team and curators to identify, seek and evaluate potential acquisitions mainly through purchase and donation of materials to Library & Archives
Facilitate exchange of Gallery\'s publications with key library partners in Singapore and oversees to raise the profile of Gallery\'s publications and ensure Gallery\'s publications are accessible to a wide group of researchers around the world
Develop and implement best practices and professional standards through ensuring proper guidelines/ SOPs and documentation of unit\'s functions and processes
Identify and recommend resources and archival materials aligned with Gallery\'s curatorial vision (research and exhibitions)
Work closely with colleagues across divisions, vendors and IHLs to encourage and expand use and access to the Library and Archives collections
Assist Head in developing sustainable strategies and policies for the overall collection building, conservation and access of Library and Archives\' holdings
Steward financial processes and utilisation of budget
Train, supervise and manage interns and volunteers
Assist Head in developing and administering of new programmes such as Research Fellowship
Handle ad-hoc assignments as and when required
Qualifications:
Degree in Art History/ Humanities/ Social Sciences/ Library or Information Sciences /Museum Studies/ area studies such as Southeast Asian studies. Masters\' degree in any of the above is a plus
Expertise and experience in developing and operating library management system and databases (eg Spydus & WorldCat), RFID system, as well as other library systems are required
4 or more years of working experience in a reference library and archives role
Willingness to travel to Southeast Asia for the purpose of building up overall collection
Effectively bilingual (i.e. to read and input texts in 2 languages); Fluency in Southeast Asian languages would be advantageous
Experience in supervisory role is a plus
Excellent organisational, communications and interpersonal skills
Possess service-oriented mindset and disposition
Able to work independently as well as be a team player where needed
Good research, writing, communication, financial and administrative skills
