Responsibilities

  • Maintaining contractual privacy control over third parties by drafting, negotiating, vetting and monitoring data processing agreements or DP clauses within agreements.
  • Maintaining privacy control over international transfers of personal data by means of transfer impact assessments and drafting intercompany data protection agreements.
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating privacy policies/notices for new and existing markets (EMEA, US, Canada and APAC) or topics (employees, marketing).
  • Provide pragmatic data privacy legal support to the wider legal, policy, product, and other teams as necessary to accomplish business needs (i.e. company policies, product rollout, marketing, employee privacy, regulatory change management, etc.).
  • Ensuring local privacy compliance and visibility by undertaking new regulatory registrations as well as updating/renewing the existing registrations including DPO notifications.
  • Maintaining privacy risk visibility by updating the privacy risk registry and frequent reporting on risks and measures to management and function leads.
  • Maintaining privacy risk control by identifying privacy risks, coordinating privacy champions to chase the privacy risks and measures and escalating, if necessary, to the Privacy Risk Controller.
  • Supporting the Privacy Risk Controller with reporting and escalating privacy risks to the Executive Team.
  • Undertake legal research and horizon scanning and report to the DPO on emerging privacy and data protection laws and guidance.
  • Work to ensure that data protection and relevant best practices are fully integrated into the compliance framework of the business.
Requirements
  • Qualified to practice law and in good standing in APAC jurisdiction.
  • 5 or more years\' of post qualifications experience, at least 3 years in managing privacy legal and regulatory matters.
  • OneTrust Privacy Professional certification.
  • CIPP - E certification.
  • Knowledge of global data protection laws and practices, including EU-GDPR, UK-GDPR, Singapore PDPA, COPPA, CCPA, CPRA and LGPD.
  • Proven work experience in dealing with EU-GDPR, UK-GDPR, Singapore PDPA, COPPA, CCPA and CPRA.
  • Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, vetting and monitoring data processing agreements.
  • Proven experience in drafting and monitoring privacy policies and notices.
  • Proven experience in giving pragmatic legal advice on privacy related issues.
  • Proven experience in managing transfers impact assessments and intercompany data processing agreements.
  • Prior experience in a global FinTech, eCommerce and payments services industry.
  • Program and project management skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with keen attention to detail and the strong ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
