Our client is a global leader in the agribusiness and food industry, they are involved in sourcing, trading, processing and transporting food ingredients. A rare opportunity is available for an experienced lawyer to join their regional legal team. As senior legal counsel, you will be go-to counsel for trading, shipping and litigation matters, advising on legal and compliance issues arising from the business across the Asia region. Reporting to the Head of Legal, this is a visible role where you'll have the chance to make a significant impact to the business. Ideally you are a common-law qualified lawyer with at least 8 to 10 years' experience within the shipping, supply chain, agricultural or food and commodity trading industry. Besides supporting the trading business, you will also advise on commercial contracts, shipping and litigation matters which may include charterparty and trade disputes with counterparties, ship owners and charterers. This is a broad and varied role suitable for an experienced lawyer who is resourceful, independent and keen to be part of a close-knit, collegiate team. Candidates with shipping/commodities & international trade disputes with a keen interest in the commodities trading industry are encouraged to apply as well.
