Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop repair processes and create work instructions for new repairs or product introduction.
  • Manage all projects planning to ensure processes, tooling, fixtures, and machines are 100% complete and operational per schedule.
  • Liaise with P&W and other engine OEM on technical data, process qualification, and technology transfer.
  • Develop and manage all CNC machining programs in compliance to Repair Process Standard Work (RPSW) and authority requirements.
  • Lead & support the New Product Introduction team on CNC machining program and plasma coating development.
  • Provide technical support to Operations on CNC machining & plasma coating processes. Including troubleshooting process & equipment-related issues, and technical data interpretation.
  • Manage capex on new capital equipment purchase & installation.
  • Develop & maintain adequate process control to achieve consistent quality products.
  • Enhance repair procedures & improve process robustness & output, through process improvement and standard work.
  • Support the implementation plan for RPSW requirements in new product development & legacy products.
  • Lead engineering responsibilities such as process certification, repair yield improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the new repair process engineers.
  • Drive cost reduction, process efficiency and material usage reduction initiatives.
  • Actively engage and participate in company initiatives such as Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Technology & Automation and Lean manufacturing activities.
Requirements
  • Degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical/Mechatronics or Materials Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience in the aviation industry, preferably in the aero-engine part repair environment.
  • Competence in CNC machine programming (G Code, Mazatrol & Siemens) and plasma spray robots.
  • Well verse in Unigraphics and 3D AutoCad.
  • Good knowledge of various processes like plasma spray coating and heat treatment.
  • Be able to interpret engine manuals and blueprints and translate information to the work instructions.
  • Good knowledge of the relevant airworthiness and regulatory agencies requirement.
  • Full understanding of process planning, process control, tooling & gauging.
  • Good knowledge of Lean concepts, Mistake Proofing, Process Certification.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well independently, and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.
