Job Description

What the role is:We are looking for a Research Executive to join in the R&D team to develop CRSIPR-based diagnostic assays for biomedical applications. The candidate will work in an interdisciplinary team which consists of experienced researcher from different background such as genomics, molecular biology, electronic and mechanical engineering.What you will be working on:The main responsibility of the applicant is to analyse genetic mutations that are known to confer antibiotic resistance in bacteria associated with urinary tract infections and carrying out the CRISPR-based diagnostic projects. The work will be guided by senior researcher.

• Design primers, CRISPR-RNA and probes for CRISPR-based diagnostic assays
• Conduct Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA) and Cas12a assays
• Provide support to colleagues, project teams and stakeholders within own area of expertise
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with regulations.
• Assist in efficient functioning of the lab by placing and receiving supplies and maintaining supply inventory
• Document results by maintaining logs, charting data etc and update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, learning new skills, reading of technical bulletins, engaging with researchers and student interns

What we are looking for:

• Qualification in Molecular & Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics or related fields.
• Prior experience in molecular cloning, CRISPR-based diagnostics will be highly advantageous
• Experience working in a team with good interpersonal skills.
• Awareness of basic safety issues
• Following of safety procedures in maintaining a safe work environment
