Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Within your first 6 months:

• You will be expected to become competent with VMware's portfolio, use-cases and value proposition
• You will support pre-sale and manage post-sale efforts with an Account Executive assigned to a specific targeted region
• You will need to orchestrate territory coverage through effective collaboration of internal teams/specialists
• You will develop (and potentially deliver) onsite and remote product and solution presentations and demonstrations
• You will identify additional business development opportunities within the customer's organisation and ensure these opportunities are effectively covered and followed by the sales team

Within your first 12 months:

• You will analyse and understand customer cloud and applications transformation strategy
• You will lead and co-ordinated responses to RFI/Q/P from a technical perspective for the customer
• You will develop scenario-based solution demonstrations based on real-world examples
• You will create new whiteboard presentations and content with a focus on storytelling

• Talking to customer representatives at the management, operation or developer level with a confidence
• Presenting and demonstrating transformative VMware technologies that can make their strategic vision a reality
• We are designing the right technology solutions to meet customers' most significant business challenges, taking advantage of a rich portfolio of VMware products and services.
• Focusing on problem-solving and successful customer outcomes
• Designing the process of migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the multi-cloud or cloud-ready environments

Our requirements from you as a part of the Solution Engineering team:

• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on VMWare
• Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills, coupled with your listening and questions-based selling skills, help you see the “big picture” and develop innovative solutions to achieve customers’ goals.
• Readiness for learning/developing
• BSc degree in Computer Science or similar discipline or close to getting one
• Experience/understanding in one of the public cloud service providers AWS, AZURE or GCP
• Experience/understanding in DevOps environments with GitHub/Lab, CI/CD pipeline and Kubernetes

This position reports to the Director of the Solution Engineering Team, an experienced leader with long engineering and IT background. The team consists of highly competent junior and senior engineers in Singapore and many subject matter experts from APJ and Worldwide teams. This role is dedicated to the primary country of Singapore. We focus on interactive, proactive pre-sales practices. You will be initially part of the established team with a wide range of core responsibilities. Still, the expectation is that you will grow to a specialist, lead or management position later. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to start new things and put their mark on a team and company. Where is this role located? The role is based in the VMware Singapore office.
